Bentley University
Dana Athletic Center

The Challenge

A 30,000 sf addition and 10,000 sf renovation for two distinct sections of a student center: a two-level athletic facility and a two-story atrium and food court. The renovations included full fire protection; HVAC systems; seismic upgrades; bathrooms; finishes; furnishings, and ADA upgrades. The final aspect of the renovation was the construction of a dedicated weight room for varsity teams only.

The Solution

CSL Consulting managed and facilitated all phases of construction and renovation. The athletic section included a lower-level weight room with 150+ pieces of equipment and an upper level state-of-the-art cardio room with more than 80 machines, including treadmills, stationary bikes, elliptical machines and bank of flat panel televisions. The two-story atrium and food court with seating for 150+ includes two franchise food stations with a supporting full-service kitchen, plus a “Jumbotron” scoreboard and an alumni booster suite and balcony with a flexible design that accommodates informal seating or a sit-down meal for 150.

The Key Benefits

CSL provided full owner’s representative services, including construction oversight, financial management, and overall project communication and accountability to create a space that allows the entire Bentley community to actively participate in sports and healthy activities without conflicts.
